During this one-day workshop, you will learn the techniques for long-term cultivation and shaping of plants in containers in the Sonoran Desert.

You will learn styling, pruning, wiring, root development, soil mixes, and repotting.

​

Included:

• a 5-gallon pre-bonsai Portulacaria Afra or Chinese Elm

• Bonsai pot and soil for repotting

• Bonsai Basics Class Workbook

• Use of a variety of bonsai tools and training wire

• Hands-on assistance will be provided throughout sessions 

What to Bring: All tools will be provided for you to work on your tree, but if you have some of your own that you want to use, just be sure you have your name on them. Tools will also be available for sale. You will also want a pen and a notebook. Please bring water and snacks. We will be outdoors under a covered pavilion.
